Noah's Ark MDO
Open House/Meet the Teacher for Noah's Ark is Thursday, September 4 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. First day of school is Tuesday, September 9. The teachers have been working hard in their newly painted and refreshed classrooms. The second floor looks great with the new tiled bathrooms and fresh flooring in the classrooms and hallway. We are all excited to begin another great school year with our fabulous teachers, new students and returning students, and great attitudes for success.
Thank you to those who attended the acolyte training. If you weren't able to attend, no problems, we have a spot for you too! I am so excited that you will be a part of such a special group that will serving during our worship services. You'll be receiving a calendar each month to see what Sunday you will be serving as an acolyte. If for some reason you are unable to serve that Sunday, just let me know and you may switch with someone else. Please contact Mrs. Felecia at (936) 336-6401 if you have any questions.
Children's Sunday School
We are still in need of a Pre-school Sunday School teacher. If you are willing to donate one hour of your time each Sunday or to rotate with someone else during the month, please let me know. I may be reached at (936)336-6401.
Wacky Wednesday will begin on Wednesday, September 10 from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. We are in need of some volunteers to help with snacks, outside time and general activities. I believe last year was the largest group we've had for Wacky Wednesday - 54 children! So as you can see, we are in need of some extra sets of hands. Please contact Felecia Davis if you can help out at (936)336-6401.
I would like to thanks all of our UM ARMY campers once again for a wonderful week in Port Arthur. You touched so many lives during the week. I hope yours was changed as well! Here's a breakdown of what you were a part of: building 8 wheelchair ramps, 2 porches, 1 set of steps, 8 handrails, 1 window, 2 doors, 7 exterior paintings, 4 siding repairs, 4 roof repairs, 1 floor repair, 3 yards cleaned, 2 cleaning jobs, 3 trash hauls, and 13 other miscellaneous jobs. You helped make a better life for many and we thank you!
Pastor's Corner - September 2014
In the past we have had Hub Conferences with several churches in the area at either Liberty or Hardin. This year the District will be doing something different for Church Conference. All of the churches in the District will have a Connectional Charge/Church Conference on November 16, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. in Beaumont at Wesley UMC. A Leadership Training Event will take place as part of the conferencing. I will share more details about this as I get them. All church conference reports must be presented for approval at the Administrative Council meeting on October 26. As you may know the nominations for church officials will be presented for approval. The committee on Lay Leadership will be meeting to make their nominations. Please be in prayer for where God would have you to serve in the coming year. Peace,
