First United Methodist Church will hold a blood drive in honor of the late John Mearns.  It will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 from 3pm to 7pm in the Fellowship Hall.  John passed away earlier this year.  A Liberty native, baptized, confirmed, and married in First United Methodist Church, John was very active in the music and choir ministries of the congregation.  John survived an inherited disease--polycystic kidneys--for most of his lifetime.  He received a kidney transplant and survived for over 20 years.  Along with the Liberty Rotary and Lion's Clubs we will want to have a great turn out and support for this worthy cause.  Call the church office today to sign up to donate a unit of blood on September 7th.  936-336-6401.
